Partnerships
Thanks to our in-depth expertise in the latest medical technologies, we have evolved into an organisation engaged in numerous collaborations that cross national borders.
Hospitals
HospitalsMember of the E17 Hospital Network
E17 Hospital Network strives to build a prestigious, high-quality and innovative Flemish hospital network in the interests of people and society, all in cooperation with other care providers, industry and government. By providing value-driven care, the hospital network would like to respond to the very real and quickly-changing care needs of their patients.
The E17 Hospital Network consists of seven hospital partners:
- Glorieux General Hospital in Ronse
- Groeninge General Hospital in Kortrijk
- Maria Middelares General Hospital in Ghent
- St Elisabeth General Hospital in Zottegem
- O.L.V. van Lourdes Hospital in Waregem
- St Joseph Clinic in Izegem
- St Vincent General Hospital in Deinze
Care association Schelde & Leie, which runs the Revales Rehabilitation Hospital, has joined the E17 Hospital Network. Revales is the only rehabilitation hospital within the E17 Hospital Network’s care region. Revales is actively involved in both policy formulations and consultations.
Eric Van Zele is the chair of the E17 Hospital Network. More information about the governing bodies of the network can be found here.

KU Leuven Flemish Hospital Network
The KU Leuven Flemish Hospital Network (Vznkul) is a partnership of 30 Flemish hospitals. The partnership’s aim is to strive for higher quality and efficiency in patient care, training, clinical research and management through cooperation.
We are steadily advancing our quality care by actively participating in working groups that are organised under the auspices of Vznkul.
Cooperation with other hospitals
We also collaborate with several other hospitals for specific examinations or treatments, such as Ghent University Hospital, Jan Palfijn General Hospital, St Lucas General Hospital, ZorgSaam Ziekenhuis De Honte, OLV Ziekenhuis Aalst, Leuven University Hospital, Antwerp University Hospital, Oostende General Hospital, Alma General Hospital, Delta General Hospital, St Augustine General Hospital, Cadix Hospital (Hospital Network Antwerp, St Augustine campus) and Karus Psychiatric Hospital.

Primary care
Primary careGeneral practitioners
The GP is a pivotal figure in patient care. We therefore consider constructive collaboration essential. In addition to daily contacts, there are several consultation platforms between our organisation and the (chairs of the) General Practitioner Circles, which facilitate the transfer of knowledge and experience.
Are you a GP? Via the button below, you will find all relevant information bundled together.
Primary care organisations
Our organisation cooperates with numerous primary care organisations, such as family and family support, health insurance funds, CAWs (general welfare centres), CPASs (public centres for social welfare), home nursing care and paramedical services.
Our organisation is involved in the following primary care zones (ELZ):
- Primary care zone Schelde-Leie:
- Primary care zone Scheldekracht:
- Primary care zone Ghent
- Primary care zone Meetjesland East and West Flanders
- Primary care zone Flemish Ardennes
- Primary care zone Panacea
We have an intense cooperation with the specialised home nursing teams of the White Yellow Cross East Flanders and i-mens. Of course, it is always the patient who decides which organisation to use, possibly in consultation with their GP.
Residential care centres
Residential care centresOur organisation has an agreement as a preferential partner with several residential care centres. This means they can always call on the hospital's (geriatric) expertise, seek out specialised advice and collaborate with our clinical lab. Twice a year, a meeting is held with these elderly care organisations and they can always request training, if desired.

Mental health care
Mental health careAs an acute care hospital, we work closely with external mental healthcare organisations, at all levels.
The PAKT is the mental healthcare network for adults (Article 107) in the Ghent-Eeklo-Flemish Ardennes region. The network partners work together towards the (re)organisation of care, so that every resident in the catchment area with a question or need can access most appropriate form of care.
RADAR is the network for paediatric and adolescent mental healthcare in East Flanders. It is a collaboration between departments and organisations from various sectors that work on the mental health of children and adolescents within their environment in East Flanders. RADAR works with and for children and adolescents up to the age of 18, and with consideration for adolescents/young adults up to the age of 25 years old.
The Flemish Discussion Platform for Mental Health strives to improve mental health for everyone, and works with all involved parties to provide high-quality and goal-oriented mental healthcare. The platform reaches out to organisations, carers, patients and family members in the mental health sector, as well as from other sectors pursuing better mental health services for all.
The Flemish Discussion Platform for Mental Health is recognised and subsidised by the Flemish governmental Agency for Care and Health.
There is also a collaboration with:
- De Pilgrim Psychiatric Hospital;
- Dienst Geestelijke Gezondheidszorg D.G.G.E. (Department of Mental Health D.G.G.E.) – Keizersvest – Ghent;
Colleges and universities
Colleges and universitiesOur organisation is strongly committed to cooperations with Flemish schools, colleges and universities. Many students gain practical experience for a number of weeks or months by completing an internship with us. Most of them do this while training for a profession in the health-care sector, but internships are also available to others. Before starting an internship, students attend a welcome reception.
