Maria Middelares organises blood collection for employees

On Tuesday 3 September 2024, Maria Middelares together with Red Cross Flanders organised a blood collection on its own site (Ghent) for staff and doctors. In total, more than 65 employees and doctors rolled up their sleeves.

This action came at a crucial time, as blood supplies are traditionally low during the summer months when many people are on holiday. Realising that every donation can make a difference in the lives of patients in need of blood transfusions further motivates our staff to take this step.

Koen Deryckere, Maria Middelares pharmacy director and Red Cross Flanders volunteer, underlines the commitment of the staff and doctors: "We cannot thank our staff and doctors enough for their donation, in addition to their day-to-day commitment to our patients."
