Maria Middelares selected for 6 innovation projects FPS Public Health

With the innovation budget, the Federal Public Health Service wants to encourage hospitals to roll out innovative digital applications in healthcare and exchange expertise. Hospitals wishing to claim the budget were given the opportunity to submit one or more projects for this purpose together with various healthcare partners.

We received the fine news that six projects in which we are participating were selected.

The projects concerned include:

  • the use of smart devices for more effective and cost-efficient diabetes education
  • the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for clear consultation and hospitalisation reports
  • the use of AI to support healthcare providers in residential care centres in triaging residents in residential care centres (differential diagnosis)
  • the use of smart glasses (smart glasses that can capture data and facilitate exchange between healthcare providers) in A&E for increased efficiency and patient-centredness
  • the development of a model in which AI supports the follow-up of patients in the home situation (data exchange, real-time data on the patient's condition ... )

Further information on these projects will follow.
