Our hospital attended the urology congress EAU 2023

Last weekend, the Urology Team from our hospital and St Vincent General Hospital in Deinze attended EAU 2023 in Milan, the largest urology congress in Europe:

- Dr Marjan Waterloos facilitated several sessions and spoke about treatments for male incontinence and female urethral strictures, among other topics.

Dr Verla Wesley gave a lecture on urethral strictures in men (lichen sclerosus in related structures), among other topics.

- Led by Prof. Karel Decaestecker, MD, the team demonstrated the benefits of robotic surgery in one of the most complex operations in urology: bladder removal due to bladder cancer with the fully nerve-sparing, intracorporeal insertion of a replacement bladder. The Urology Team at Humanitas Research Hospital in Rozzano, Italy assisted with the operation. The operation was streamed live and commented on by world authorities.

A successful mission for the Urology Team and, most importantly, for the patient.
