Simulation training on the Anaesthesia Department
Our Anaesthesia Department organises simulation training for resident assistants. Simulation training mimics a realistic scenario that allows participants to act as they would in the real world.
In a fully equipped operating theatre, the team goes through realistic scenarios using a state-of-the-art simulation dummy. Every simulation is followed by a comprehensive debriefing. The training was developed by Dr Silvie Allaert, together with Dr Stijn Van de Velde and Dieter Vyt, the simulation training team leader at Artevelde University of Applied Sciences.
The participants were unanimously positive after having completed the simulation training. Their reaction confirms the benefit of practising critical situations.
Simulation training is a cutting-edge method to thoroughly prepare healthcare professionals for emergency scenarios. Like several other centres, we aim to fully explore the latest technological advancements.
