Support El Camino con Flo, and thus our hospital
On 31 August, Mr Pablo Janssen will put on his hiking shoes for a 1,650-km trek towards Compostella, in memory of his dear wife Flo. The main aim of the 'Camino con Flo' is to support the Dr Vanderstraeten team, with a particular focus on improving the patient experience and communication during weekends, so that the well-being of patients is maximised at all times in our hospital.
Why this camino ...
"Flo and I visited le Puy-en-Velay last summer, and we both loved it. It was our last outing together. The cathedral with its steps to heaven, the black stone, the beautiful statue of Our Lady, it was there that our plan to walk to Compostella together was born. A few days before her passing, I promised to walk the trek with her. I am sure, she will stop every 5 minutes, photograph insects and flowers left and right with her camera at the ready, walk to the back to greet a casual passerby, and I will enjoy it with her. On 31 August, I will put on my hiking boots, buckle my rucksack and, together with many friends and family members, start our trek of about 1650 km. I hope to arrive in Santiago de Compostella around 2 November or All Souls Day."
