Two common causes of oral cancer are alcohol and smoking.

Diagnosis and treatment

Early diagnosis and treatment are very important and can make a great difference for survival. In case of a suspicious lesion, a piece of tissue (biopsy) will be taken to determine whether or not it is malignant.
