Struma or goitre

Iodine-131 (radioiodine) may relieve the symptoms of patients experiencing pressure in their neck due to an enlarged thyroid. The fastest and most definitive method to resolve these symptoms is to surgically remove the thyroid. If surgery is contraindicated, radioiodine therapy can be considered.
