Maria Middelares Hernia Centre
The word hernia means the bulge of an organ or tissue outside the body cavity where it normally lies.
In Flanders, the term is often used to refer to a hernia at the invertebral disc of the back.
Outside Flanders, it more often refers to herniae of the abdominal wall. It is these hernias that we treat at the Maria Middelares Hernia Centre.
