Radiology

Practical information

Please always make sure of the following:

  • If you are pregnant or suspect that you may be, report this when you book the appointment and/or before the start of the test!
  • If you are unable to make an appointment on time or at all, contact us to let us know. A simple phone call will suffice. That way, we can have another patient take your place. If you wish to do so, you may book a new appointment straight away.
  • If you have a pacemaker, neurostimulator, artificial heart valve, etcetera, ensure that you report this before your MR test. To make sure we can conduct the test safely, we need to know information about the device in advance, including the name, type, serial number, implantation date, etcetera.

What should you take to the hospital?

  • The application form issued by the referring clinician.
  • Your identity card.
  • Previous radiology images (e.g. previous mammograms), should you have these.

Information about supplements

The physicians on the Radiology Department are not covered by agreement with a health insurance fund. This means that a statutory supplement can be charged for a radiological examination, as stipulated in the Coordinated Act on Compulsory Insurance for Medical Care and Benefits of 14 July 1994. The supplement is not reimbursed by the NIHDI and is therefore borne by the patient.

The following supplements are used:

  • X-ray, mammography: maximum €15.00
  • Ultrasound imaging: up to €15.00
  • CT: €10.00 and €40.00, depending on the examination carried out
  • MRI: between €35.00 and €45.00, depending on the examination performed

Before you can undergo a CT or MRI scan, you will have to sign an informed consent form.
