Colorectal screening

What is it?

There is worldwide consensus on the usefulness of colorectcal screening in a Western population.

Who should be screened?

Everyone who is older than 50 years.
People who have an increased risk People who have an immediate family member (parent, brother or sister) who has had confirmed colon polyps. Patients who have had polyps and/or colorectal cancer in the past should also receive regular follow-up.
