There is worldwide consensus on the usefulness of colorectcal screening in a Western population.

Who should be screened?

  • Everyone who is older than 50 years.
  • People who have an increased risk People who have an immediate family member (parent, brother or sister) who has had confirmed colon polyps. Patients who have had polyps and/or colorectal cancer in the past should also receive regular follow-up.
