Guide-wire placement
What is it?
What is it?A guide-wire is a fine wire that is brought as close as possible to the affected area.
During the operation, the wire can be used as a guide to localise the lesion.
The wire is placed under ultrasound guidance. The site is visualised and the easiest way to enter is identified. Once the wire is in place, its location is confirmed through mammography. Only then is the wire taped to the skin.
