Injections

Injections can be administered in the joints, muscles and around the tendons or nerves. In some cases, the physician will use ultrasound to administer the injection even more precisely.

If there is inflammation in the joints or certain tendons, a corticosteroid injection may be administered. If in doubt, a diagnostic injection with anaesthetic may be given. If the pain disappears a few hours after the injection, then that is used as positive evidence.
