Leukocyte-Platelet Rich Fibrin (L-PRF)

What is it?

What is it?

Leukocyte-Platelet Rich Fibrin (L-PRF) is an autologous fibrin concentrate. This means that the concentrate is extracted from your own blood. The natural fibrin network is rich in growth factors and cytokines (which play a role in the immune system). They are produced by platelets (thrombocytes) and white blood cells (leukocytes). When these proteins are present, wound healing can take place. L-PRF is a simple procedure that can be performed at the outpatient clinic.
