Peritoneal dialysis

What is it?

There are two types of peritoneal dialysis:

Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD): a form of peritoneal dialysis that is performed manually.
Automated Peritoneal Dialysis (APD): dialysis performed by a machine at night.
