What is it?An X-ray of the gastrointestinal/urinary tract is an X-ray test of (a portion of) the digestive tract and/or the urinary tract.
Examples
X-ray of the: act of swallowing, of the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, transit through the small intestine, colonclysma, defaecography, kidneys, cystography and urethrography.
Preparation for the test

Drinks | As wished: water, sugar water, sports drinks, clear fruit juices without pulp (apple juice, grape juice) Maximum a cup: clear tea and coffee without milk . | Recommended: continue to drink up to two hours before the procedure or examination (Exceptions: gastrointestinal surgery. You should follow the instructions of your attending physician).

For colon tests, intestinal preparation is required.
Please inform your physician or nurse if you are (possibly) pregnant or if there is a contraindication for intravenous contrast (unless this is necessary for the test).
