Oncology and non-oncology patients visit this day hospital for anti-tumour medication (e.g. chemotherapy), infusion therapy or diagnostic testing. Every departmental nurse at this day hospital has a professional qualification in oncology and completes ongoing training, ensuring exceptionally professional and high-quality care.

The care ward welcomes patients for day admissions (one day) or short stays (overnight stays of one or two days) to undergo various procedures, examinations and treatments.

Important info: same-day admission patients should not be left home alone the day of the admission and discharge and should not drive themselves home by car after receiving anaesthesia.

You can telephone the nurse’s station of the day admission - short stay department on +32 (0)9 246 10 00. This can be done continuously from Monday at 8am to Saturday at 3pm.

Maria Middelares General Hospital offers seniors the opportunity to schedule several consultations and any associated examinations in one day at day hospital D402GD.

All information regarding this option is provided under Geriatric care provision.

You can always contact day hospital D402 by calling +32 (0)9 246 42 50. This is possible Monday to Friday, 8am - 4.30pm.

You can submit a request online via eForm, available in each GP's global medical record and for Maria Middelares General Hospital and St Vincent General Hospital in Deinze. The request is then processed as quickly as possible by the nurse at the Geriatric Day Hospital in consultation with the geriatric specialist.
