Internship opportunityAs a student, internships bring you into contact with professional life early on. You get a taste of the daily reality of the job and you have the opportunity to learn specific skills and attitudes.
Our hospital has many internship opportunities in various departments and for people from a variety of backgrounds.
Every year, we offer around 1,000 internships at Maria Middelares General Hospital and about 350 places at St Vincent General Hospital in Deinze for nurses, paramedics, doctors in training, logistics and support staff, etc. To this end, our hospital has internship agreements with various universities, colleges and secondary schools.
Maria Middelares General Hospital does not offer social internships or days of reflection, but it is possible to have a social internship at St Vincent General Hospital in Deinze.

Specific internships
Are you in your fourth year of undergraduate nursing? Then it is also possible to complete a specific internship programmes. In an internship programme, you will have the opportunity to explore the different departments and aspects of the discipline and you will be immersed in multidisciplinary collaboration, among other things. All this can be tailored to the student's needs and interests.

Combination of departments
At the student's request, it is also possible to choose to compose the internship of a combination of different departments in the regular internships. Opportunities can be considered in consultation, depending on the existing internship schedule.
Internship application
Internship applicationCheck first with your university/school if there is an agreement with our hospital. If a cooperation agreement already exists, the internship application is made by the training institute. If there is no cooperation agreement, you must apply for your internship with the application form below.
