Your greatest motivation should be a compassionate heart for our patients.

Additionally, you need to fulfil the following criteria:

  • you are older than 18
  • you speak Dutch
  • you commit on a regular basis
  • you respect the professional confidentiality inherent to the job

Volunteers are used for the benefit of the experience of the patients, relatives and visitors. They are a great asset to any department. Our volunteers are at every location for a wide range of departments. An introductory meeting is held to explore the mutual expectations, opportunities and interests. Would you like to have intensive contact with patients or would you prefer not to? You decide the kind of tasks you want to perform.

Yes, provided you also volunteer during the week.

On the intermediate and long-term care wards, duties continue as normal on the weekends. Some other departments do not work on weekends.

You will need to submit an application in advance to be allowed to do volunteer work. This requires specific documents to be signed by you and by our organisation. We are happy to help you with this.

I give every day, but I get much more: the gratitude of patients, staff and doctors is invaluable to me.
